Bereavement Counselling

Bereavement Counselling is not for everyone and everyone grieves in their own way.  For many people counselling really is something to try.  I did not seek the support of a counsellor: that said I have had plenty of support in other ways.  The critical aspect of counselling is finding an counsellor that understands where you are coming from.

A great way to get counselling is from a friend.  However it may be you do not feel willing or capable of talking to a friend.  If that is the case then talking someone you have never met may be recommended. Here are some services based in the UK.

Given the nature of Epilepsy it may be best to seek out someone who understands the condition, and ideally SUDEP.  Right at the top of my recommendations therefore is the Epilepsy Bereavement organisation which has counsellors skilled and experienced in dealing specifically with SUDEP.  You may also wish to seek out the support of other Epilepsy organisations.

Here are some other bereavement services.
The main thing is if you are grieving - do something about it rather than let it get to you.  Grieving can be a very dark place.
